Getting Some Naked Sun At Split Rock And the Mohonk Preserve

While we still have some beautiful autumn days left, I wanted to share a clothes-optional place to go where you can even get your outdoor / fall leaf repair! It is found in the Mohonk Preserve in https://crazypublic.com of New Paltz in upstate New York. It's about an hour and half drive from NYC.

Mohonk Preserve - We went there on a bright day in August. There are numerous hiking and mountain biking trails all over this mountainous rural area, as well as rock climbing and various other outdoor activities it is possible to do there.

The area we went to is a clothing-optional section on the Coxing Trail. The closest parking https://videonudism.com is at the Coxing Trail Head. This lot fills up quickly. It was full upon our day coming so instead we parked at the West Trapps trail head. This was a longer ways away (approx 30 minutes), but a fine hike anyway! It is a relatively simple hike, but sneakers are recommended. The trail runs along a stream called Coxing Kill, and first you pass through the clothes-mandatory component, along with a popular area called Split Rock. Subsequently a ways down you reach that sign posted on the tree.

And you'll be able to remove all clothes and be as freely unclothed as the wildlife![There's so regrettably no established name for this particular place. Many refer to it as Split Rock, even though that's the name of the textile section. More on this later.] A little further down we found the place where people (mostly guys on this day) hang out on the level stone relaxing out in seats or on towels. It's at the center of the woods so there's a blend of shade and sunshine. The stream of water moves steadily around the stone, creating pools and small waterfalls. So pretty and relaxing!

However the water was ice cold, so swimming is best reserved for hot summer days. The area is thick with trees and plenty of natural plant life for the senses to feast on. Check out these orange mushrooms I seen and a butterfly in motion!

Soon after our visit, I wrote to the Mohonk Preserve to ask why there isn't any info on their website about this clothing-optional area. Their answer:

"Within an attempt to adapt a varied population of visitors, the clothes-optional area on the Coxing Kill stream is a long standing tradition at the Mohonk Preserve. Just a tiny fraction of our visitors take advantage of this region.

Through the years we now have had to handle a certain amount of conflict between a large proportion of our visitors and the group utilizing the clothing-optional area. A number of our members and visitors do not believe that this is an appropriate use of our landscape since it has the prospect of bringing families with children into contact with folks in the clothes-optional area.

Families have expressed to us their suffering with this exposure (pun intended) and feel that this region of the Preserve becomes, de facto, off limits to them. Because we attempt to balance chances for all to appreciate our properties, we do not publicize the clothing-optional area on the Coxing Stream."

Sounds like they ran into a bit of controversy plus some angry parents. The customary "What about the children!" crap. Thanks, MP, for determining a designated clothing-optional area is appropriate.

Now to educate individuals on how straightforward nudity really does not damage children. You would think that with an area set aside, both groups would manage to peacefully coexist. The Preserve is enormous enough! I also do not believe these families comprehend how very few places there are to legitimately skinny dip outdoors in NY state.

Anyway, we haven't been back since August, but I'll bet it is friendly there this time of year! Anyone up for a clothes-optional hike this autumn?
